Surviving USCG Basic Training

I went through Basic Training at USCG Training Center Cape May in the Spring of 2011, graduating with Xray-184 on May 20, 2011.  When I was preparing for basic, I was very disappointed not to find any current advice on what to expect.  Most of it was several years out of date, and things change at basic training pretty constantly.  I wanted to help anyone else entering basic in the near future by making a series on what my experiences were like and what I learned.  I hope it proves helpful to you.  I’ll be writing 1-2 of these posts per week.  If you have anything you would like to see featured here, let me know in the comments.  I’ll be expanding this introduction when it isn’t 00:34 the night before a work day.
